Open Call: Passage Art-Residency-Programme 2026 – Applications open until 30 May 2026

The Passage Art-Residency-Programme is calling artists working in photography and film to apply for two residency places in October 2026. There are two different topics to choose from:

1) Ferropolis / Zschornewitz: The focus is on the history of the former coal-fired power station and the transformation of industrial landscapes. Artistic perspectives on energy production, structural change and visions of the future are sought.
2) Research Library of Reformation Studies (Wittenberg): This focuses on the production of knowledge and its visual representation. The starting point is the extensive collection of historical sources relating to the Reformation period.

The selected artists will spend four weeks on site in October 2026 and develop an independent project. The grant covers accommodation for the duration of the residency, a fee of 5,000 € and an optional 1,000 € allowance for childcare.

The programme also includes a public artist talk, a workshop with young people and participation in a documentary film. Travel, material and living expenses must be covered by the artist.

For application and participation please go to APPLICATION.

The residency is part of KOBRA, a multi-year project (2025–2030) that explores regional transformation processes between Fläming and Dübener Heide and promotes artistic research in this context. With its clear focus on structural change, the history of knowledge and landscape, the open call offers exciting points of reference for artistic practices that engage with the past, present and future of rural spaces.

Das Projekt ‘Kontinuitäten, Brüche, Ausblicke (KOBRA)’ ist Teil des Programms „Aller.Land – zusammen gestalten. Strukturen stärken.“
